One of the major car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its first electric car e Vitara, at an international event in Milan, Italy. The same model was showcased the eVX concept at the Auto Expo 2023.All this concept electric car will be manufactured in Gujarat facility that was set only for electric mobility.
The e Vitara will be launched in 2025 in Europe, India, Japan. It is the Suzuki’s first global strategic BEV model, designed under the concept of “Emotional Versatile Cruiser.”
Coming to the specifications, the e Vitara comes with advanced technology and handsome looks. The length of the car is 4,275mm, width of 1,800mm, and height of 1,635mm. It is powered by 49kWh and 61kWh.
The BEV electric car is run by eAxle that integrates the motor and inverter, alongwith lithium-ion phosphate batteries known for safety and reliability.
Suzuki’s electric 4WD system, ALLGRIP-e, uses two independent eAxles for front and rear.
The platform for the e VITARA is the newly developed HEARTECT-e, tailored specifically for BEVs. It boasts a lightweight structure with high-voltage protection and a spacious interior.

Suzuki president Toshihiro Suzuki said: “The e VITARA is our first BEV, developed through repeated trial and error to create an easy-to-use BEV for our customers. In order to realise a carbon-neutral society, we will provide a variety of options, including BEVs, hybrid vehicles, and CNG vehicles, tailored to specific regions.
“Introduction of the e VITARA represents a significant milestone in achieving carbon neutrality. Following the launch of the e VITARA, we will continue to expand our BEV line-up and propose mobility solutions tailored to the needs of specific countries and regions.”
