According to a media report, Bajaj could bring back the sunny. Bajaj is now using an electric motor instead of a 60cc ICE engine.
Sunny Electric is testing their new upcoming electric scooter. In this photo, it is clear that this bike is connected with a hub mounted motor at the rear. As per the media report, this electric scooter is made on Yulu Platform.
The Sunny prototype electric scooter has the same compact and simple bodywork. There is no difference between a normal scooter. It has a round Led headlamp at the front and a rectangular tail lamp unit. It is equipped with a trailing-arm front suspension, steel wheels and drum brakes. The battery pack is located on the floorboard where the spare tyre used to sit.

Looking at the spy image, it seems the Sunny EV project is in an early stage of development. It has the potential to be an affordable and convenient city runabout. It would be interesting to see if Bajaj puts it into production.
