As per the Vahan Dashboard data, there are 10,44,600 electric vehicles registered in India this year from January to September 20, but 40% of this total electric vehicles were sold in only Tamil Nadu.
We all know, Tamil Nadu is the India largest automobile hub. Most of the vehicles including electric vehicles like two wheelers, three wheelers and also four wheelers were manufactured there. But according to the ministry of road and transportation, Tamil Nadu acquired the 1st position in terms of electric vehicles sales.
As per the Vahan Data, there are four lakh electric vehicles sold only in Tamil Nadu out of ten lakh electric vehicles.
Tamil Nadu is also an EVs manufacturing hub, so price and also govt EV policy offers more affordability for the customers.
This data is for the year January to September 20. Only 4,14,802 EVs were registered only in Tamil Nadu.

The official said, ” Tamil Nadu is India’s automotive manufacturing hub and also is the number one state in terms of selling electric vehicles. The Tamil Nadu Government always offers benefits so that customers take EVs more and more.”
