California based electric two wheelers manufacturing company Zero Automobiles has jointly launched its Zero electric bike in India. Last year Hero invested $60 million dollars (Rs 491 Cr) on Zero Automobiles. Zero bike is a high performance electric bike which offers a long range.
One time Hero is one of the top brands on ICE engines. Slowly, Hero is shifting their manufacturing into EVs. Vida electric scooter has potential, but sales haven’t increased as per expectations. So, the company is working on multiple strategies to strengthen their EV segment.
New Zero electric bike
The upcoming Zero electric bike comes with a long range and dual sports options. Also, it may choose direct imports from outside the country , then the bike’s price will be hiked. Already the bike price is very expensive. For this reason, this bike is not for everyone, only for a small number of customers.
Zero bike specifications
Zero bikes have been designed with high performance and wide range. It offers four types of electricity . For an example, Zero SR/S – it offers 110 hp peak power and 190 Nm of max torque. This bike is connected with a 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery that provides 187 miles(301 km) range on a single charge. The top speed of this Zero electric bike is 124 mph(200 km/h) and 110 mph (177 km/h).
Zero has two battery options- 7.2 kWh and 17.3 kWh. These bike price range is about $13,000 to $25,000.In the Indian currency it is Rs 10.64 lakh to Rs 20.46 lakh.
