There are more or less 1 lakh electric two wheelers sold in India per month. But the electric two wheelers charging stations are not increasing as per the number of E2W. So, Tiruchi Corporation plans to establish EV charging stations for the motorists to charge the batteries of their vehicles.
R Vaithinathan, Comissionner, of Tiruchi Corporation, told The Hindu that they will install electric vehicles charging stations at its multi level car parking lots at Kaliamman Koil and on West Boulevard Road. The charging station cost is Rs 10 lakh.
Electric vehicles sales in India are rapidly growing day by day. So, we need our charging stations. Only 15th EV charging stations are situated in the showroom. But no other charging stations are not available in India.
According to data, there are 5000 electric vehicles in cities.most of the Vehicles are two wheelers. Although there are no separate EV charging stations in the city except for a few at the EV vehicles showroom.
The civic body had set up 20 charging stations on its premises in different parts of the city. They are being used exclusively for charging the batteries of electric vehicles of the Corporation.
