Announcing the annual report for 2020-21, managing director of Royal Enfield, Siddharth Lal revealed that the company is strategically developing a long range electric bike and service for the global market. The brand can leverage its product development and manufacturing capability along with establishing a new extensive distribution network.
Royal Enfield’s announcement will be an integral part of its comprehensive Environment, social and Governance (ESG) vision. In fact, the brand’s two manufacturing facilities have been certified water positive by improving the new energy efficiency and waste management system. Also, the company is working on increasing renewable energy components as well.
Chief executive officer of Royal Enfield, Vinod Dasari said that the company made the electric bike’s prototypes. A UK based automotive company is developing the bikes design and also spare parts. The new upcoming electric bikes Royal Enfield will make a great impact on this two wheeler electric bikes segment and are likely to be equipped with the latest connectivity features.
In 2021 at the EICMA Motor show, Royal Enfield will report its first concepts. In India, it may launch in 2023. As of now, the two wheeler maker is gearing up to launch the new generation Royal Enfield . The significant change of design and also mechanical is likely to hit in the near future.
The company may launch this Royal Enfield e-bike with a long 200 km range like Ultraviolet F77 and also some variants will come short from 100 to 120 km on a single. It will be city driven customers.
