Electric two wheelers sales fell in April this year. Total registration of electric two wheelers was 62,581 units in April which was 82,292 units in March, according to data from the VAHAN report.
Except Ola, other electric scooter brands like Okinawa, Hero Electric, Ather Energy, TVs all have the lowest registration this year in April. Only Ola Electric is exceptional where 21,560 units registered this month. It is the highest registration this calendar year.
But, there are some changes in numbers this month. The Bajaj Auto and Chetak technologies combine has quietly moved up to the top five in April from its sixth spot in March. And on the other side, Ampere replaced Ather in the third number spot.
Electric two wheeler companies Hero Electric and Okinawa sales in April decreased after the government subsidy stopped. Both the companies have been under investigation for breaking the localisation requirements of 50 percent on their scooter. For this reason, electric scooter prices have increased.

Both the company’s electric two wheelers sales fell by 43 percent in April this month. Now, their share is only 10 percent of total electric two wheelers. And the total electric two wheeler sales is now 31 percent of the market. There are 1200 crore subsidy are stuck over the issue.
