A big news from Uttar Pradesh that Govt CM Yogi Adityanath has decided to convert all the vehicles used in the department will be converted into electric vehicles. The government aims to convert all the vehicles into electric vehicles by the end of 2030.
For this vision, CM Yogi ordered all the departments can purchase EVs on the basis of nomination, while the purchase EVs can be spent more than the maximum limit as per the requirement.
Uttar Pradesh is the first state in the country to have 100 percent EVs in the department that offers a big tax reduction.
On October 14,2022, Uttar Pradesh CM announced e-mobility policy where EV buyers gets 100 percent tax benefits and registration fees for three years on buying of EVs. At the same time, this exemption will be valid for five years on the purchase of EVs manufactured in the state.
The Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra instructed that all the departments and institutions working under them have been instructed to convert 100 per cent of vehicles into EVs by 2030 as per the EV policy.

According to UP Transport Department, since government vehicles were till now procured through tenders on GeM portal, EV companies are not registered with it. This policy has been made in the policy that EVs can be purchased from government agencies like Rajasthan Electronics Instrument Ltd (REIL) and Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) etc on the basis of nomination without tenders.
The state government offers Rs 20,000 subsidy on electric two wheelers and Rs 1 lakh on electric car.
