India’s one of top developed states Gujarat has reached 600 percent jump in electric vehicles in one year. The World Resources India (WRI), an international clean energy think tank published this report where electric two wheelers acquired more share.
WRI-India said that after the Gujarat electric vehicles policy this jump has come between 2021 and 2022. This was the game changer behind this success. Right now, Gujarat stands in the 5th position among all other states in India.
This is a good picture for India’s green energy policy. India wants to acquire 30 percent of electric vehicles by the end of 2030.
Gujarat Government allocated Rs 870 Cr for EV subsidies and Rs 25 Cr for EV charging infrastructure. In this policy, the Govt offers Rs 20,000 incentives for each electric vehicle which will cover 1.10 lakh vehicles. In addition, the state also offers Rs 70,000 incentives for electric three wheelers and Rs 20,000 for electric two wheelers. The government expects that More than 2 lakh electric vehicles will take this benefit.

This registration number broke last year’s record where two wheelers dominated. Electric buses and other types of buses have yet to see a significant increase in the state.
