India’s largest two wheeler manufacturer Hero Motocorp plans to increase new electric scooter range over the next 18 to 24 months because of customer demand, according to a senior company official.
Hero is already selling its two variants Vida V1 and V1 Plus across Delhi, Bengaluru and Jaipur. They want to expand the existing range in other cities next year before launching their new electric scooter.
Hero Motocorp head Emerging Mobility Business Unit (EMBV)- Swadesh Srivastava said on a news portal,” After launching our two electric scooters in 3 cities- Delhi, Bengaluru and Jaipur -where the customers are buying this product. The sales growth is positive. Now, we are ready to multiply into many cities going into FY24 to establish ourselves wider into the market.
Hero Motocorp had launched Vida V1 electric scooter in October last year in two variants, Pro and Plus.
The company is manufacturing its all electric scooter at its Chittoor- based plant in Andhra Pradesh and it is a great Rival of Bajaj Chetak, TVS IQube, Ather Energy, Hero Electric and also Ola Electric and more.
The company head said that the company has been able to establish its new brand in the market this fiscal year and it is going to expand in the next year.
Already Hero is working on a few more cities in India. It is expected it will grow across India within 18 to 24 months with its product (Vida V1 and V1 Plus).
The company’s main aim is to bring its scooter to every customer in India. The Srivastava said we are very excited people are liking our product and we may reach top position in terms of selling.

In the future, the electric two wheeler market is growing rapidly day by day. As per FADA, the electric two wheeler sales was at 6,28,671 units last year, that is four times as compared with 1,55,422 units in 2021.
