Ola acquires GeoSpec to build next-generation location technology

Ola acquires Pune -based Geospoc to make a next-generation location technology. The geospatial scientists and engineers who are working on Ola Electric Company want to develop technologies which will give you a universal accessible mobility, sustainable, personalised and personal vehicles, company said.

Ola said that they want to make expertise and understanding on consumer movement as well as  they want to work their network of 2,3 and 4 wheelers vehicles that provide you very important geo-spartial details. On Tuesday EV maker Ola Electric Company, CEO and Chairman, Bhavesh Aggarwal said in a short  note “Druva and his team of Geospatial scientists and engineers Will be joining Ola to develop technologies which will make mobility universal accessible, sustainable, personalised, and convenient , across shared and personal vehicles”.

Enhanced knowledge on geo-spartial services will also go a long way in improving urban planning including road networks , better public transportation and help congested spots, he said.

Aggarwal said “we can layer this data with new sources such as satellite imagery and visual feeds from our network on ground to build ‘Living Map’ that embody the changing landscape of our world”

Most important part of that matter is the improvement in the map. He said that more accurate and informative maps with high user context should be available to the population beyond the first 100 million users. For multi-model transportation imports , we need more accuracy on geo-spatial intelligence to understand the unique benefits of each option and provide suggestions accordingly.

“Maps will need to consider a three dimensional view of the world as aerial mobility models such as drones become more mainstream . Incorporating near real time satellite imagery to provide a better understanding of  road quality, as well as improvement such as avoiding poorly lit streets at night safety -even if it is a faster route” he said.

In future autonomous driving will need HD and 3D maps which will offer superior visualisation, dynamic real time traffic , road and weather updates, Aggarwal said.
